Tutoring from Law School Online

Due to work commitments I am unable to take on any more tutoring at present. I will update this notice as soon as I become available...

I offer tutoring in Land law, Contract law, Criminal law and Equity & Trusts for LLB, GDL and Ilex level 6 students (for details of my qualifications click here). I also offer tutoring for Ilex level 3 in Land law, Contract law, Criminal law and Tort. (I don’t offer Tort to undergraduate level because, frankly, many of the cases are fairly grisly and I have made it a rule to avoid those judgments that can’t be enjoyed over a family bag of Minstrels!)

I have spent many years working with students at all levels from A level to LLB, GDL and Ilex, both in the classroom and by distance learning. I have particular experience of working with mature students, and understand the difficulties faced by many who are trying to combine work, family and study. I enjoy working with individuals and small groups, and find this is a particularly effective way of teaching and learning, not least because it is easier to accommodate individual learning styles in this way than it is within a traditional large group setting.

I offer tutoring by email, use of Gmail chat or Skype. Tutoring rates start at £28.00 per hour, depending on your requirements and the level of tuition. For Ilex students, I also offer individual guidance through an entire unit (Land Law, Criminal Law, Contract Law and Equity & Trusts to Level 6). Drop me an email with a note of your requirements, and I will see if I can help (no obligation, no follow up marketing and no passing on your details to any third parties!): tutor@lawschoolonline.co.uk.

Postscript

I was on the internet the other day and suddenly remembered my advice to my students: "Don't trust everything you read on the web. Only go to recognised academic sites. Most of the people out there don't know what they're talking about." Fair comment....but it was with some degree of horror that it dawned on me that I might appear to be running one of those sites that I warn my students against!

So, I thought I had better bite the bullet and put down a few qualifications. For anyone who wants to know...here goes:

  • B.A. Hons. in English Literature. (2:1) from London University (way back in the mid 1980's)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Law with distinction, from Staffordshire University, 2001
  • M.A. in Legal Studies with distinction, (research on mutual trust and confidence in the Employment relationship), from the University of Central England, 2004
  • P.G.C.E. (post-compulsory Education and Training) from Greenwich University, 2005

I am a member of the Institute for Learning and hold an enhanced CRB check dated December 2010.
